We had the HOPpiest of Easters

The Gilmore's Easter recap!

We hopped on over to Brett & Kyle's house for some Easter Dinner and to see some of Sean's roommates.
We ate to our hearts content!  It was potluck style and we brought a festive dessert.

Yummy Easter dessert! Little nests with chicky eggs!

Even though we were a day late, we still dyed our eggs and got into the Easter spirit!  Sean made a big "G" egg for Girl!! We are pregnant!

We aren't really, the G was for Gilmore!

While I was making the egg dyes I was surprised at how many colors they have now.  I think I had to make like 12 colors.  What happened to red, yellow, and blue?  Sean dipping eggs!

Making it Lakers Purple...cause Gilmores love their Lakers!

Even though we loved Easter with friends, fun treats, and dying eggs,
we are grateful at this time of year for our Savior!
Happy Easters!

Something Sean Said

I think we are all pretty aware that Sean is a funny guy, but sometimes, I think the things he says when he is being serious are some of the funniest.

I can't remember what the situation was, or what we were talking about, but this came out of his mouth a few weeks ago:

"We need to have one of our kids work at a donut place!"

He leaves me speechless, but he does have a good point!

Kellogg's Smorz

Cory surprised me when I came home from work with a box of Kellogg's Smorz.  I have to say it actually tasted pretty much like s'mores.  No one flavor overpowered any of the others, so it was a surprisingly nice blend.  The downside was that it is one of those cereals that leaves one of those common/gross films on the roof of your mouth.  Overall, my Smorz experience was a B.

Cowboy Poetry in Motion

Anna's Dance Ensemble team had a performance over the weekend!  My mom came down for the weekend and we of course had tickets to opening night...not to mention my mom had tickets to every single show the whole weekend.
The show was awesome. Real cowboy poets read real cowboy poetry, there was a live cowboy band and tons of boots and hats and YEEEHAAAWS!
We loved it, and had so much fun.  Anna choreographed one of the dances, and it was definitely one of the highlights of the show.  Can't believe how talented she is!

Mom and I snuck a picture with one of the Cowboy Poets, huge celeb!

We also celebrated my mom's birthday with a dinner at Olive Garden.  Love having my mom in town and family to show love and support to!  What a fun weekend!

St. Patrick's Day

St. Patrick's Day is an important holiday for the Gilmore clan.  We celebrate every year by eating our corned beef and cabbage, and watching the classic, Darby O'Gill and the Little People (though I have discovered more and more as I have gotten older that people don't even know what movie I am talking about. Nevertheless, it is a classic.)  This year was our first St. Patrick's holiday married, and we decided to invite our friends over to join in the festivities.

Cory watched Darby O'Gill with me last year when we were engaged, and has always been a trooper when it comes to my hyper-enthusiastic view on my traditions.  It did, though, make me laugh out loud when after I said we would be watching Darby O'Gill she said, "What?  We have to watch it again?"  YES!  EVERY YEAR!

Cory made a green cake to serve, and our friends brought over various green treats.  We got the idea the night before to have Sprite poured over lime sherbet so we raced to two different grocery stores only to find out that everyone had the same idea.  Both places were sold out, so we got some rainbow sherbet that had lime as one of the flavors.  Cory cleverly pointed out that our rainbow sherbet was more Irish anyway, considering leprechauns are at the end of rainbows.  She totally understands me.  Love that girl!

Honey Bunches of Oats

Another cereal review. Honey Bunches of Oats is not a new cereal, but I have never tried their Fruit Blends variety. I decided to go with a Peach-Raspberry box. So the flakes are peach flavored and the clusters are raspberry flavored. I have to say that this cereal was delicious. The flavored aren't overpowering and compliment each other well. The clusters give it just enough crunch to make you feel like you are eating something of substance, and the faint aroma of fruit that reaches your nose during consumption is an added bonus. I give this an A and highly recommend it.

Sigma Delta Pi

You are currently reading the post of the newest member of Sigma Delta Pi, the Spanish National Honor Society.  It isn't actually that big of a deal.  I just had to have a certain GPA and pay a fee, but I ROCKED both of those requirements.  Cory was able to go with me to the induction ceremony.  Since I am a member now I don't want to make fun of the ceremony, but it was...different...than I thought it would be.  I know that there are far weirder ceremonies and rituals that people do to enter into exclusive societies, and ours only included some candles, repeating some phrases in Spanish pledging our loyalty to the Society, and receiving a rose and certificate one by one.  However, when you can't light your candles because the fire code of the building you are in forbids it, and every minute or so they keep reminding you to pretend your candle is burning majestically, it is easy to not take it very seriously.   Nonetheless, I did it, and it is probably the closest thing to a college fraternity I will ever experience.  Here I am with aforementioned rose and certificate:

Oquirrh Mountain

Cory and I continued our Utah temple tour yesterday that we began last summer.  As soon as fall semester started we started frequenting the Provo temple more due to our schedules or nasty weather.  March brought with it sunshine, and we didn't work yesterday so we headed north to Oquirrh Mountain.  It is a beautiful temple, inside and out.  Next stop: Salt Lake City!
