Lights at the Galleria

Sean and I had the great idea to take Emmy and Calvin to go see the Christmas Tree lighting show at the Galleria Mall.  The tree is absolutely massive and it is in the center of an ice skating rink.  Unbeknownst to us, this is a very popular show.  The traffic was a nightmare as we got close to the mall and the mall was packed.  There are 4 floors that have views into the rink and each one was completely packed by the time we got there.  There were 4 rows deep of people trying to look over the edge to the show.

Johnny Weir was performing, and also Mistle Toes, which is an ice skating Santa that does back flips and has fireworks that shoot out of his boots as he skates.  Sounded pretty awesome to me.  This is a pic of Johnny Weir.

Because it was so packed we couldn't see at all.  Sean and I took turns going up and down the escalators with Emmy so she could see.  It was a pretty good view but only for the 10 second escalator ride.  Then we would get off and go around to ride back down again.  The pics of us being able to see the tree are about 15 minutes after the show ended when people had cleared out and we could finally get some pics.

Emmy inspecting the massive tree.

Emmy and Sean in front of the tree.  The thing was huge and as you can see in the background there were tons of people there to see it, and this is after the crowds had died down a bit.

Afterwards we headed home and got some pics in front of our Christmas lights.  In the background you can see someones balcony in our complex that went all out with the Christmas lights.  It's just as good to Emmy as the back flipping firework Santa.
